Yes, this photo was taken this morning!

 Snow Snakes
Slithering, slipping, sliding
Down the road.
Harbingers of a storm.
Their sinuous bodies race
Before the Northern blasts
Until their twisting, turning selves
Meld together
And finally transform
Into a full-force gale.

I dug out this old poem I wrote in 1998. I was taking the girls to school on a snowy, windy day and was inspired by the sight of the snow snaking along the ground, racing ahead of the car.

At 2:30 today it is 10 degrees with a windchill of -13!  and the wind is blowing 30 cold miles per hour!

I have always loved this poem. I saved it the first time you sent it to me. Yesterday I was trying to remember it as I watched the snowsnakes slithering through the school parking lot...and then you posted it. YEA!!!!

Wow! Was that today? It won't hurt my feelings at all if Oklahoma is stingy and doesn't share with Tennessee.

Maybe you'll finally get that school snow day after all.
