I almost forgot to brag!

Today was the first day of the Woodward Art Show.  The Seniors may post panels of their best work.  Molly had two and 1/2 panels of stuff! She won a $1000 award for her efforts!

This piece won Best of Show.  It will become part of the WHS permanent art collection.  She received $500!

To create this, she converted her digital pictures from the Romania mission trip  to negatives and then printed them on transparency film using an inkjet printer, then pressed the onto the painted canvas to make a print.  She then painted the word "Sent" over them.

This picture represents Matthew 28:19--Go and make disciples of all nations...

Each student chose an Area of Concentration--a theme--for their artwork at the beginning of this school year.  Molly chose Bible Verses.

Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

1 Corinthians 6:19  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

Isaiah 66:1  This is what the LORD says:  "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.

Psalm 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

Molly is very interested in pursuing Graphic Design in college.  Most of her art is collage/mixed media, incorporating different techniques of painting and design.  Some of these pieces were stamped, then painted, then embellished with paper cutouts.

I'm so proud of Molly and her choice for her area of concentration.  Her boldness to proclaim her beliefs amazes me.  Her pursuit of God's will for her life humbles me.

We are so blessed with our daughters and the choices they are making for their lives!

Congrats to Molly!!! I so love the way that she sees the scripture. Amazing. You know you can read and study the word over and over and you see something different each time. I hope she continues to witness with her talents. Mom you should be so proud!!
