Cloth Portraits of the Bride and Groom

I had this crazy brainstorm last week--you're surprised I know.

I had nothing to do of course.  There were no rice bags to be made, no bridesmaid dresses to be finished, no lesson plans to be done, no library books to be read or reviewed.  There wasn't a church choir party to attend and bring a desert for and no shower hostess gifts to be put together.   There were no early faculty meetings or anything of that nature.  I had all the time in the world! (between midnight and 6 a.m.)

So, since I had none of the above to do (insert eye roll here), I thought it would be really fun to make little dolls in honor of the bride and groom for their wedding shower.

I enlisted Les to help with the stuffing of the various parts.  I did the sewing of the various parts.  It was fun to find sparkly buttons for the grooms tux shirt and another sparkly button for the little faux engagement ring for the bride doll.  Les did go shopping with me to find accessories.  Sadly, no top hat was to be found and he was apparently too busy to construct one of felt.  He is so lazy.....

But at 11:30ish on the night before the shower, they were finished!!!

The original models!

Oh how adorable. I love sock monkeys. Leave it to you, my dear creative one...to think of this. Last night was so much fun. Good to sing with you and Les again. Never a dull moment. Thanks for thinking of me. Have a wonderful day.
