Those Jiggly Mommy Parts

We women lament and complain about the changes our bodies go through as we age.  But there's a reason for all that.....

The Eyes--All seeing, all knowing, full of wisdom--those crows feet tell the world we can laugh--at ourselves and at our kids! They represent late nights spent making a costume or baking 10 dozen cupcakes for the bake sale.
Upper arms--AKA the world's best security blanket--What child doesn't love to zone out rubbing the back or your soft upper arm?  Your arms are strong enough to stir up cookie dough and to carry a sleeping child--who cares about toning and sculpting.  Right? Right????
That droopy middle region--soft and pillowy, perfect comfort for a toddler or a teenager. Who wants a skinny mama?
Those hips--pity the poor men who have to carry a squirming two year old and have no hips to rest them on!  They also help hold a laundry basket while the other hand wipes a nose or catches the cat!
Plush derrière--seriously--you're gonna spend countless hours in bleachers listening to the band, cheering on the team or waiting for practice to be over--enjoy your added comfort!
Thunder thighs--a comfy place to hold two little kids or added room to spread out the prom dress you are hemming 10 minutes before the date arrives.
Those legs--perfectly proportioned for little arms to wrap themselves around.
Callused feet--can you imagine how it would feel to step on a Barbie shoe or a Lego if your feet were soft and smooth?

So just for today--embrace the 'you' that motherhood has made.  Worry about appearances tomorrow!

And thanks girls for making me a mom!  Love you beyond words!

This is really sugarcoating things...but I like it. I wish I didn't care so much about my appearance!

I haven't heard the phrase 'thunder thighs' in ages!

Something to look forward to, especially since I'm eating chips right now.

Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for jiggly wiggly parts that I usually despise!

Happy Mother's Day plus a few!
