I Wish

I wish that this picture was in better focus and better exposed and didn't have the highline wire in it.

I wish the color had been better so you could really see how lemony yellow the yellow part was and how brilliantly blue the blue part was.

I wish I had paused a little longer at the stop sign so this photo had been in focus and that the tree hadn't been fuzzy so you could really see how majestic its silhouette looked, back-lit by the sunset.

I wish I had a fancy schmancy camera in the pickup so you could really see the gorgeous colors that God gave us tonight as we traveled home.

I wish I had a paintbrush and the talent to paint to portray to you exactly what I saw tonight as the sun went down.

But I've found that no fancy camera, no amount of time spent, no paint palette in the world, can ever duplicate that glorious color that can only be seen for a moment after the sun sinks from the sky and night is slowly enveloping the world.

But I didn't, and I don't so you're just going to have to imagine it all from this grainy and blurry Iphone photo.

I think God's love is like a sunset.

We can read about it and hear stories of it but there's nothing that can adequately describe the reality of experiencing it for ourselves.

God paints the most beautiful pictures. One of my children once told me that God doesn't get out of the lines when He colors. Oh the wisdom of children.

One Last Thought.......

Pleasant words are a honeycomb;
sweet to the soul and healing to the body.
