Words

I love words.

I love the way the ink on the page is so definite. So there.

 I love that I don't have to try to read lips and decipher body language and put a conversational history with the words to decipher their meaning.

I love stories.

I love the Once Upon A Time that holds so many breathless possibilities--magic, mystery, romance, inspiration.  I love that the characters have a part of me in their history as I use my experiences to interpret the story.  And I love how each new story becomes part of me.  How the story entwines itself in mind and memory,  adding richness and newness to the everyday that is mine.

I love choosing stories.  Just as if I were going into an overflowing closet to choose an outfit for the day, I can peruse the titles of books, searching for one to fit my mood. My fingers trace the titles the way a fashionista runs her fingers along the sleeves of the hanging garments. Adventure, romance, suspense, nostalgia. How shall I dress my mind for the day?   Whether I'm visiting the well loved March sisters or the Ingalls' on the prairie, or meeting new friends on a hitch hiking adventure across the United States, I'm in charge of my own journey.

I can travel by foot , camel, elephant, or airplane. Up the Amazon, across Arctic ice, to the depths of the sea and beyond the stars, The world is mine to explore as I chase the never ending stories made up of simple black letters contained within the covers of books.

Love the Pintrest quote... I too love the written word... It is so concrete, yet they have such power to evoke emotion...

I love this post! I love words, too. It's easier to write than it is to talk.

One Last Thought.......

Pleasant words are a honeycomb;
sweet to the soul and healing to the body.
