A Little Flower Story

I almost threw this plant away. We bought it over a year ago (maybe two?) and it hasn't bloomed again. It's too dry, it's too wet, not enough sun, too much sun burns the leaves...The wants and needs of this tropical plant are never ending, and I'm not so good at being consistent with attention to it.

Then this long sprig grew up almost over night and had buds on it!

After about a week, they began to open, one at a time.

Les had been encouraging me to be patient! I'm not too good at it.

Look what I would have missed!
I wonder what all I have missed in life:
--Taking control of my destiny, hurrying it along.
--Neglecting one thing, overcompensating on something else.
--Not taking the time to just sit patiently and wait and see something through to the end.
Psalm 37:7 says Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.
Lovely words-- Simple advice-- Hard to follow.

Now if this guy would just hurry up and bloom......

Pretty flower- and good lesson. Patience (or the lack there of) is one of my biggest weaknesses.

One Last Thought.......

Pleasant words are a honeycomb;
sweet to the soul and healing to the body.
