Ginger--Try it!

Every evening on the cruise as we left the dining room, there was a cart with a man serving mints and dried fruit from it. He would fold the napkin to make a little cup and give you a spoonful of butter mints, dates, or whatever other exotic thing he might have available.

One of the 'things' that was available every night was a round ball that was dark orange and looked kind of like an apricot in syrup. So one night, Les asked to try it. We asked what it was and the guy told us that it was good for upset stomachs and motion sickness. So of course we are thinking Ginger ale. And we like Gingerbread and Gingersnaps.

But.

We did not like ginger.

In fact, Les looked like Tom Hanks from the movie Big when he tried caviar. He let his tongue hang out and wiped it off with a napkin. I'm thinking, 'it can't be that bad.'

Well, yes it can!

In fact, it was so horrible we encouraged everyone in our party to try it out!

Chad and Mandy were the first victims. Les and I even told them how awful it was before they tried it.

Chad took a serving. He took a bite. He chewed and he chewed and he chewed and his ears began to get red. Then he told Mandy to try it. heehee! They looked for a trashcan to spit in!

Sarah encouraged Jon to try it--"It's great!" she promised!

Jon tried it and told Sarah she was going to kill her!

Les told Delilah that she just had to have some! Delilah loves trying new stuff and told us she put the whole thing in her mouth! But then she tried to tell Les it wasn't that bad!

The consensus was that we would rather be sick than eat the stuff! It was hot and sweet and tart and just yucky all at once!

So next time you are sick--don't eat ginger!

LOL...I wish I could have seen your face, I've tasted it before and it's awful. Yucky, terrible.
I'll stick to ginger ale.

And it grows as you chew it, and it sticks in your teeth and you can't get it out. Really there is no way to describe it that does it justice. I think everyone needs to try it (just to experience it!)

Too bad you didn't have hidden cameras as you convinced people to taste it. I can just picture Leslie's face....
