I-t-s Show Time!

My first and only time to show animals was in 4th grade. The Annual Beaver County Fair was the occasion.

We had a herd of sheep so it just made sense to find something in that woolly bunch that was worthy of the fair. We found these three wild ones a week or so before the event. Oh not really, I'm kidding. It was at least a month!

Am I stylin in that hat and those duds or what. I think that's my brother's backside in the lower right of the picture.

Can''t you just hear my mom, "For the last time, get out of that pen while I take your sister's picture or you are going to go sit in the car while everyone has cotton candy and hot dogs."

I'm pretty sure she didn't verbalize the "and then they are going to ride the tilt-a-whirl and throw up everywhere" part.

I'm not sure what I'm doing with my lips--whistling?

By the way, my three lambs got Champion, second and third in open class. Out of 5 sheep! And they they ate the ribbons!

I'm just glad that I didn't have to show this:

I LOVE everything about this post. The first picture is amazing and fun. I happen to like the hat and duds.

Maybe YOU didn't show the swine, but SOMEBODY does 'cause I've seen PLENTY of those big porkers at county fairs!

I loved this post, because we (my kids and I in open division) used to show sheep, at fairs in California, boy do I miss those days!
