Vintage Thingy Thursday--Flower Basket Quilt

A few weeks ago the town-wide garage sale was held and Mom came to town to shop with Les and I. We didn't get the awesome stuff like last year, but there were treasures to be found if you knew where to look! I love my new quilt!

It was a bit musty smelling but a soak in OcyClean and took that out and brightened up the colors too.

I was debating whether to wash it but it had obviously been washed before and I was pretty sure my front-loading machine was not going to be as hard on it as a wringer washer so I just went ahead and dumped it in--took the plunge so to speak!

Mom also came away with some quilt tops, and quilt squares. She and I each bought a gallon jar of sewing notions. Neither of us will ever need to buy sewing machine needles of any size!

It was fun!

How in the heck do you always find treasure when you garage sale or go to the second hand store? I think you are a member of a secret society that keeps information from the rest of us just so we will be completely envious of your super human treasure hunting abilities...
