The Flying Dutchman

Sarah is taking watercolor this semester and she loves it.  I'm so glad because being an art major has kind of made her dislike creating pretty pictures with paint.

She's tired of being graded on everything and criticized about her hard work.  It's made her discouraged.  She's enjoyed watercolor class because it dries quickly and she can finish the paintings in a much shorter amount of time.

Like two in one weekend!

Of course, I'm her mom but I think these two paintings are pretty wonderful.  Can't you just feel the wind in your hair and the salt spray on your face?  Can you imagine the sound of the waves and the crying of the gulls?  And aren't you waiting for Cap'n Hook to bound out on the deck and demand that Peter Pan fight!

I'll show you what I painted while she was hard at work in Never-Never Land later this week.  It's not nearly so good, but the subject does bring back fond memories!
