Things I've found in Books

Do you know how much I love books?

New books are so enticing--the smell of ink, the texture of the cover, the stiffness of the spine, the fresh, uncreased pages filled with the story's promise.

Old books with the occasional bent pages, the fun art that can be found on the end papers, the classic looking covers with gold on the embossed letters, bring a mysterious history--where has it been?  Did the owner enjoy the story?

One of my favorite things about old books is not actually the book itself, but the surprises you might find inside!

Secret codes, Pressure point charts, intricately cut invitations, newspaper articles with vintage ads on the back.

You think I can find one of those sewing machines for 49.95 somewhere?

I started a really fun book last night when I couldn't sleep, and I think you'd love it. It is called Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella...

Old books are great! I love all the little things people stick in them. My great grandmother did this a lot and I often find tissue thin flowers.
Hope you have a good weekend!

I love looking through older books, and finding things like that ad you found with the sewing machine. My great grandpa built a cabin and kept a journal there and everyone who ever stayed there wrote about their time there. It was really neat to look at. My mom told me that it was stolen. :( Who would steal a journal?

One Last Thought.......

sweet to the soul and healing to the body.
