My Grandma is the best in the whole world!!

Happy 90th birthday to one of the most beautiful women I know!  Thanks for all of the loving and teaching and spoiling you have done for the last 45 years.  As I type this, I realize that I am now the same age you were when I was born.  I'm half your age (for a few months!)  If I can maintain half of your drive, and love my family half as much as you do, I will be an accomplished woman.

When I think of you I think of:
Pink
Flowers, especially roses
The smell of linseed oil from oil painting sessions
Turning on the record player and dancing in your living room to "Tie me Kangaroo Down, Sport!" and "Too Old to Cut the Mustard"
Blankets over a card table for a tent and using the couch cushions to build a house.
Walks in the creek bed near your house and learning about owls who nest in cliffs, wild grape vines and poison ivy.
Fishing!  Catching!  Frying! and Eating!
Trips to the mountains
Playing in the living room while you and Grandad played Bridge with Aunt Lela and Uncle Ray
Getting in trouble for announcing to Grandad and Uncle Ray which cards you held!
Rolling up in blankets on the lawn and you not caring that it was covered with grass
Sitting on your front porch in the evenings after a family supper
Sitting on the ice cream freezer while someone turned the crank to make ice cream for supper
Roast Beef and Noodles
Reading Home for a Bunny over and over!
Snickers and Cokes--all we wanted!
Taking dinner to the field
Watching you drive the wheat truck or the tractor so someone else could rest
Not being afraid of anything
Learning to Embroider tea towels
You dropping everything to drive 25 miles to town to bring whatever I had forgotten at home.

I've been so proud to call you grandma.
I've been so blessed to call you grandma!

I love you!
Happy Birthday!

She drove the trucks and the tractors but not the combine. Did you print that off for her. That is a good picture.
