Vintage Thingy Thursday--Sugar and Creamer

Hello! It's Thursday again and you know what that means! Time to show off another treasure (aka: junk, dust gatherer, shelf and cupboard filler--you know what I mean!) from the past.

Today, I present to you this random creamer and sugar bowl I bought at a garage sale. The lady didn't have anything else in this pattern and in fact, insisted I take a plastic vase in burgundy because it matched! To be nice, I did and then tossed it when I got home!

This fulfills my fantasy of owning a castle with it's own pond and sailboat! I love little vignettes like this one. I can pretend that it is a painting of my house and pick out my bedroom window (in the round tower of course!) and picture my love and I floating on the on the serene little lake.

My true love, Les, is actually a singer in real life, so he is usually serenading me with a lute in hand! I, of course, am lounging in the boat, reading a novel and eating delectable treats from a handwoven basket. I'm sure you realize that the treats have been provided by our castle cook who has know me from girlhood and is happy and jolly and loving and has a kitchen filled with delightful scones and muffins and clotted cream and chocolate chip cookies and fluffy (!) angel food cake and chocolate caramel cake and....and....and...of course she has fruits and vegetables too, I'm sure. I just haven't ever put those in my fantasy picnic basket!

Here's the mark on the bottom, if you're interested! I've not researched it (surprise!) because I just love the little scenes so much, I don't care if it's worth anything.

Thanks for joining me (dressed in hand-embroidered silk) on my fantasy adventure Vintage Thingy Day! For more vintage goodness, visit The Colorado Lady and take a trip down memory (or fantasy!) lane.

You collect like I do--I must like the piece for what it is not what its worth. But I do like to see the stamp or anything else to help place it in history. I love castles too.

very pretty. My post today on VTT has a cup/plate set with the same stamp on the bottom. UCAGCO CHINA.
Mine doesn't have Royal Vista thought. That is so coincidental with us both having the same stamp name.

What a great find and I think I'd like to borrow that "daydream" today. A horrible "bug" has struck rendering virtually useless, but in a daydream I'm beautiful, not sick, don't have puffy eyes or a red nose and my spring cleaning isn't interrupted...it's done.

That is a wonderful story-you put a big smile on my face...I might just live over the next hill :)

Love the scenes and the sudden use of the blue-lovely cream and sugar.

Heh. It's a lovely creamer and I so agree that your bedroom should be in that tower. Can I live on the other side of the creamer?
