A Giveaway!

Guess what!  The invitations are all addressed!  I have one bridesmaid dress completed and one waiting to be fitted to a maid.  Things are happenin' here!  It's been fun having a bride in the house and looking at all the cool things the happy couple has registered for but I think that perhaps people should have anniversary showers to spruce up their homes.  Les and I are coming up on our 25th anniversary and any wedding presents we might still be using are looking a bit shabby.

You know what I'm talking about--the non-stick skillet that is more 'stick' than 'non,'  the '80s dinnerware that is blah and too new to be considered vintage, and kitchen barstools that appear to have been gnawed on!

Here's a chance to replace one of those worn out wedding gifts!  CSNstores.com has graciously given me a $40 gift certificate to be used at any of their sites.  I've been looking this over for the last few days and am overwhelmed with the amazing things they have to offer.  They carry almost everything you can imagine to outfit your whole house inside and out.  Whether your style is modern or traditional, your budget extravagant or tiny, you can find something to suit you!

And you don't even need to leave home to shop--sit at your kitchen table and check out CSNstores collections of:

(Why yes, as a matter of fact, I did choose red!)

Leave a comment here, on this post by Friday, August 21.

Tell us
"What wedding gift are you still using after all these years? "

I'll draw a winner Saturday and some lucky person will receive a $40 gift certificate to CSN Stores!  I can't wait to hear what you have to say!

Oh and be sure to include your email!  Otherwise, how will I contact you?

Well you know our grandmother had a hard time buying Cousin B pots when she got married so when she finally found some she bought 2 sets...to encourage me to get married since I was an old maid and all. Then she made me STORE them for THREE years and NOT use them until I got married. Well those pots are 20 years old and still in use on a daily basis.

I received a food press/colander for our wedding from Billy Warren @ Fenimores. He graciously said any young girl who wants this deserves to have it. He gave it to me before our wedding so that i could do some canning. I was so surprised and appreciative of his generosity.

We received a new stove -- I still use it. Best gift ever. :-)

Very cool! It must be fun having a bride in the house. And I'm so impressed that you're doing the dresses. Wow!

We're coming up on our 25th as well (next summer) and I can sure identify with what you said about the wedding present pan being more stick than non! How about the towels? Ours are getting threadbare and string! :)

Now, what do I still use? Sheets! Though it's really long past time to get some new ones. YOu can practically read a newspaper through them!

We have a small kitchen and we needed extra space to put things so someone bought us a baker's rack. One of the best gifts ever.

Enjoyed reading your last few posts. I'm sure you are having fun with the wedding plans.
....Well, after ALL these (9) years, there are many things I still use. The main things I use on a daily basis are my dishes. I chose the versatile, classic (boring), plain white. So I may be using them 30 years from now too.

My dishes!

My pots and pans!

The cast iron skillet I had to beg Paula to give me, because she didn't think it was sentimental enough!

I have been married almost 47 years and have casserole dishes, silverware, and a lot of crochet and embroidery things that I still enjoy. I have a wonderful blanket on my bed that was a gift from a great Aunt and Uncle that is used all of the time. It is washed and put back on. I have replaced the binding several times but it is still beautiful. I also have a revereware copper bottom pan from another Aunt and Uncle. They are keepers.

So many!! Most often used in the kitchen are dishes, a slow cooker and embroidered dish towels. hanging on the walls are an embroidered picture from a friend, a CRONK crocheted doily. Quilts & pillowcases, and sadly enough, even bath towels, which are in need of replacing.

Hey, I forgot about the cast iron skillets from my older sister Patty. She knew that I would need two sizes. I still use them.

I am still using our Le Creuset dutch oven, in yellow, a gift from my husband's cousin. I've probably cooked in it 1000 times!
